BATHING BEAUTIES

We have been working very hard.
Spring is always such a busy time, cleaning up in the garden.....
cleaning out the attic....what a mess.
So what is nicer, than a relaxing bath, filled with the scent of
lavender, rosemary, lovely bubble bath and fragrant soaps.

This antique English bath tray is the perfect vehicle to
carry all the essentials for a relaxing time.
I often add a favorite magazine or book to make it
even more special.

Lovely natural soaps.

I have never been able to open this soap.
The packaging is just too lovely!
I keep lots of bubble bath close at hand in pretty
glass containers. Love the edging on this one.

Funky bath sponges and a soft chamois
leather ring to exfoliate are in this pretty jar.
The chamois is as soft as butter.

Some of my collection of bathing thermometers.
Most are from Germany, and yes, they still work
just fine, but in Celsius.

My favorite bubble bath...
Lilly of the Valley.
That does not surprise me at all,
since my birthday was last Sunday, and they
are the flowers for the month of May.

Another pretty wrapped soap.
Isn't she sweet!

I treasure this pretty nightgown that
once belonged to my Mom.
Her name was also Eva.
Her middle name Marie-Louise.
So, I became an Eva-Maria with lots of nick names....
Evi, Evchen, Evemie, and many more......
Evi being my favorite.

I adore old hangers.

Well, I now feel soooo relaxed after my bath....
time for a much deserved nap.
To all my blogger friends.... take time for a bubble bath,
smell the roses [or Lilly of the Valley],
or just take a brake and appreciate and enjoy life.

God bless,
Evi

PORCH - WORK IN PROGRESS.......

Knock, and enter our porch in progress.
Because of ongoing back problems, the old twig furniture
was no longer an option.
With an upper-back herniated disk, which is still bothering me,
I made the decision to go for more comfort.
Yes, I will miss my old furniture and the rustic look,
but it is going to a very good home to my friend
Laura's@ 52flea house in the Adirondacks.
It fits there perfectly!!!!!

The new set is very comfortable.

Flowers are blooming everywhere......

like these beautiful tulips.......thank you Heather.....
I just love them!!!!

And so, with spring all around me.....

........ I am eager to nest again!

The porch is coming together.
I will tweak as I go along.
Slipcovers out of linen have to be made yet,
something for shade has to be decided on, etc.

That is the part I like most.

Soon all the plants will come home from my
husbands office, where they over-wintered.

We bought this bucket bench when we vacationed in
Pennsylvania.
The patina is wonderful.
Now most of my bee skeps have found the perfect home.

Hubby build the shelves under the eaves.
Many of my birdhouses are displayed there.
This one is very special......

.....and so is this house.
It feels kind of "witchie".

Can't wait for all the trees to be green.

I am wishing you a happy and peaceful week.

God bless,
Evi

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

I have taken a break from most anything to do with computer work.
Life  can get hectic and something had to give.
But spring has arrived, and with that renewal,
 including renewed energy.
Spring blossoms are popping up all over the place.
Some trees are already in full bloom.
Hopefully no heavy frost will put an end to all this beauty!

Birds are chirping and are busy, busy, building their nests.

I brought the summer hats out of hiding,
and am wearing them too, while playing
in the garden.
I just love this time of year.
There is so much promise of wonderful discoveries
and fun to come.

Walking around the house, I realized
how many of my collections fit in with
spring and Easter to come.
We purchased this little hanging cabinet from Tirol
on our last trip to Austria.
I believe it had a religious purpose.
It is a most charming piece, made with so much care.

On the right is mom bunny, also from Germany.
I keep gathering families of bunnies.....
well, you know what they say about that....
no wonder there are so many in our home.

Sheep are another of my favorite collections.
You can NEVER have too many!

Case in point!

This one looks like trouble.

These hand-dyed eggs have the most beautiful colors.
All are done with natural dyes.

A chicken with attitude.

He has quite a wonderful ride through the daffodils.

A long time ago we met dear friends of ours at a show
in Bethlehem, P.A.
My friend pointed out these fabulous hand-done eggs.
I still am amazed, every time I hold them and look
at all the details.
And I thought, I did little things...
this boggles the mind.

The back of the egg.

Here are two "love birds".
Hubby and I.
Wonder what he is whispering into her ear?

More eggs in a wonderful leather covered hat box.

Another treasured egg.
Wish I had more!!!!

The back of this one.

I played in Picasa. Like the soft look.

Found this little fellow at a flea market in Berlin.
He hopped all the way to the USA.

Even the bathroom got some spring flowers.

And last but not least,
my rabbits, hubby and I
wish you all a marvelous spring,
and a divine Easter or any other holiday
you might be celebrating.

God bless,
Evi
