Buckle up, it's going to be a long,
hopefully not bumpy ride.
For some of you this might be overload.
I kept taking pictures, but did not have time
to post.......and like bunnies, they multiplied.
And since I took them, I will share them with all
my friends in blog land and my family in Germany.
This will be more or less a picture show.
I hope you enjoy the tour.
Welcome to our home.
Since I am a "Nester", this ornament suits me well.
You might have noticed, this year I went more sparkly,
but my beloved color red is still showing up here and there.
I purchased this stocking many years ago.
I love the little girl on the sleigh.
One of my Santa's.
These silver bullion wire balls were packed
away for many years.
I forgot I had them.
They glitter and sparkle when the light
catches them.
My Santa only stayed a few days in this spot.
He moved to a new home.
Funny, I have been making Santa's for many years,
and I have never been able to keep a white one for myself.
That is OK, because I know they will be loved for
many years to come by someone else.
As I wrote in my last Christmas post,
I was inspired by James Cramers book
" 'tis the Season"
I made my birds and they landed in different
spots in the house......
and finally they settled in the kitchen window.
I love how they came out.
The guest bedroom (this bed lifts up and out
and becomes two twin beds), is one of my favorite rooms.
I snuggle in the chair, or stretch out on the bed with
a good book.
The little doll is by doll maker Nicole Sayre.
She looks adorable with her companions.
I found this beautiful silver plated trophy cup
at the Goodwill store for a mere $ 8.50.
I knew right away where it would end up.
I love it !!!!!
She is ready for bed with her kitty
to wait for Santa.
I always have fun dressing her up.
I played with these toys as a child.
They belonged to a very large dollhouse
with lights and running water.
The little pictures are copies of paintings I grew up with.
These ladies are in my studio to keep
me company.
The standing Americana doll and the
snow girl are mine, don't know who
made the others, but I think they are
charming.
I had to decorate the newly remodeled
bathroom.
And I spoiled myself with lovely
towels from Pottery Barn.
I like combining my German traditions with American ones.
I grew up with this advent wreath stand.
Love this funky rabbit and sheep.
Don't know the maker...
One of my older Santa's with "Jodel",
a gift from my friend Laura @ 52flea.
Makes me want to sing songs from the
"Sound of music".
Jodel just reminds me of that, and makes me smile.
That sweet kitty snuck in again!
I leave you now with this wish
for peace on earth.
May you all have blessed and joyful holidays.
Merry Christmas!
I wish you for the new year health and happiness,
may all your wishes come true,
but most of all we, hubby and I, wish for
PEACE ON EARTH
God bless,
Evi

Evi, I love your home and style of decorating, stunning!!! I read in Laura's blog, that you were raised in Germany....my mom was born and raised in Germany also. She came to America in 1953. She was also very talented in so many ways, like you....German blood I say!!!! After finding your blog and learning of your German heritage, it reminds me of my wonderful mother from Germany....I am always so proud of that....guten tag!!!
