Many years ago, 1997 to be exact,
I did a show where I met a
fellow artist extraordinaire......
Norma Schneeman.
Before the show opened, I fell in love and
purchased this wonderful piece of art.
Since I know that Norma is a very talented painter,
I believe she hand painted this pillow.
It is then quilted with a running stitch.
When I look at it, I am always amazed by the detailing.
I connect with it on a deeper level,
because I have been doing the same thing so many times,
potting up beloved topiaries.
The little sign.....Flowers and Herbs.....
truly says it all.
Now I am putting this lovely pillow to sleep
for the winter,
to appear again in the spring, where I will be doing
the same, as the pretty lady in the picture.
Good night for now....
Are you all done putting summer away?
Me.......not by a long shot!!!!
First I am going to enjoy my family arriving tomorrow.
I wish you pretty fall days.
God bless,
Evi

Beautiful pillow, Evi. It looks like sepia to me...wonderful and warm. I always enjoy a peek into your lovely home...my very favorite is the bedroom with all the sweet critters and lots of red! I adore red!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your special weekend,
Robyn
Evi, this would be one of my favorites. I love the natural tones, that thoughtful face, and the softness of it all. Your home must be full of lovely treasures......Sarah

ReplyDeleteHow lovely Evi!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your family!
Hello dear Evi
ReplyDeleteWell I'm on the other side of the world in New Zealand, so I am doing what the lovely lady on your pillow is doing!
What a talented person Norma is and you made a truly wonderful purchase!
I've only had the odd day potting up things - we are having very strong winds at the mo! Not so pleasant in the garden but there's so much I want to do!!!! Ideas I've been dreaming about over the bleak days of Winter!
Wishing you a happy fun week with your family - what could be nicer!
hugs
Shane
Hi Evi...
ReplyDeleteI guess I never looked that closely at this lovely pillow. It is, indeed...very special! I hope that you have a wonderful time with your family...I know you have been looking forward to their visit so much!
Lots of love, Laura
What a beautiful pillow, Evi, I am way behind on getting the garden to bed, this year I have so many geraniums and I want to try and save them, I know that is crazy when you can buy starts at 50cents in Feburay. I just have a hard time to letting them go. Have a wonderful time with your family XO MARY
